South Korea
Above all South Korea is known for its green teas. Their character builds a bridge between the Japanese and Chinese teas.
The special feature of Korean green tea is that it is steamed and roasted. An exception makes the tea Jeoncha.
The tea gardens are situated in coastal areas. Influenced by the warm air of the Pacific ocean and the mild winters the location is ideal to grow tea. The most important growing districts are Gangjin-do as well as the island Jeju-do.
